Israel Kills
Families Targeted by Israeli Terror in 2012
Preface
November 2012, the Gaza Strip was
subjected to a horrific attack that lasted for 8 days. It
started as the Israeli Occupation Forces assassinated
the Commander in Chief of the al-Qassam Brigades,
the armed wing of Hamas, Ahmed Said Jabari and
ended with 178 martyrs.
It was necessary for Women for Palestine
as an institute committed to documenting the
suffering and sacrifices of Palestinians, along with
their struggles for independence and human rights
to document the brutal attack on families that lived
in the safety of their homes and were not guilty
of anything except of being Palestinians. This
documentation aims at maintaining the collective
Palestinian memory of the events. Due to our belief
in the importance of the world seeing the horrific
and bloody nature of the Zionist Occupation and
its persistent attempts to falsify history, this book,
through a detailed presentation of the crimes
committed and the number of martyrs and injured,
comes to complete a chapter in the Palestinian story.
As to the importance of documentation in a world
that believes only what it sees with its own eyes
and hears with its own ears, this book is also part
of a collective effort to expose the crimes of the
Occupation in front of the International community,
in the hope it will help prosecute those who stand
behind these massacres and end Israeli impunity.
Difficulties Faced by the Investigating Team
The work to produce this book was not as easy as
we thought it would be. The Investigating team
faced many difficulties, one of which was the
width of the geographical area and the fact that
the martyrs’ families live all over the Gaza Strip.
