At about 3:15 am, the Israeli military warplanes
launched a missile towards a land in Dahdouh
Street in Tal el Hawa neighbourhood, western
Gaza City, resulting in the death of one-year-old
Rama Imad Al-Shindy.
3. Testimony of Mother of Martyr Rama:1
At that night, the bombing was so violent
and constant. We could not sleep until 3:00 am. I
tried to help my kids sleep by telling them a story.
They did. However, a sudden and a huge explosion
awakened them up, 15 minutes later!
We got up freaked out! My five-year-old
daughter was screaming. I tried to calm her down
and asked her to cover her head and try to sleep
again. After a little while, we learned that a land was
targeted in Dahdouh Street next to our house. And
again, another huge explosion happened. That time,
the windows of my house got broken, my husband
was injured, and Rama started screaming.
I looked at her and made sure she was fine.
Out of fear, I looked at her again, her eyes were open
and her body was lifeless! She was not breathing.
Taking her to hospital, her grandpa learned from
doctors that she had a shock and her heart stopped
beating. ‘You’ve lost the girl, already. We’re sorry,’
they told him.
I was speechless.
