Families Targeted by Israeli Terror in 2012
November 19, he came back home and phoned me
to come back. As my kids and I arrived, he asked me
to prepare dinner. He was playing with the kids and
we stayed at home all night long.
By dawn, he went to the mosque to perform
Al-Fajr prayer then went to our land, which was
located next to our house, to feed his sheep.
At 8:00 am, I was cleaning the house when
a huge explosion happened! It targeted the land, I
thought to myself. I took my kids and went out to the
farm. I was shocked seeing my husband lying on the
ground, dead. I was in my last month of pregnancy
when that happened. I named my new baby boy,
Mahmoud, after his father. I pray he rests in peace.
Around 9:15 am, an Israeli drone fired a missile
at a Palestinian and his kid in Alwaha area near
the International American School of Gaza,
killing Yahya Awad, 14, and injuring his father,
Mohammed Awad, 43, who suffered from bone
fractures and amputating his foot.

I used to go fishing. It was my hobby. One
day, my son Yahya insisted on coming with me. It
was too dangerous outside that his mother said ‘no!’
He nagged so much so his mother and I allowed him
to come. He was indescribably happy. The next day,
we went fishing together at 6:30 am in Alwaha area,
northern Gaza City.
