About 1:20 pm, an Israeli warplane fired a
rocket towards an empty land around Noor Al
Huda mosque in Israa neighborhood, to the
southeast Beit Lahia. This led to the martyrdom
of Marwan Abdul Rahman abu Qumsaan, 52.
10. Testimony of Fayza Okasha, 51, Wife of
Martyr Marwan:1
On the first day of war, when Ahmed Jabari
was assassinated, my husband went out to visit
his brother in Beit Lahia. As things escalated, he
called and informed us that he is going to stay at his
brother›s house because he could not go out since
shelling was powerful and everywhere. Next day, he
requested a car to go back home in the company of
his brother, Radwan abo Qumsaan.
At that time, electricity was off. We weren›t
able to follow up the breaking news. A friend of my
son Abdul Rahman, 25, called him and asked him if
his father was home. My son told him that his father
had not arrived yet. He told his friend that his father
was in his uncle›s house. Only then had his friend
told him that there was news that my husband was
injured. He asked my son to call his father to make
sure he was okay.
My son rushed out of the house and I
followed him. Many people were in front of our
house talking about the martyrdom of my husband!
I heard the voice of my daughters’ screaming
upstairs. I realize that he was killed. His brother was
seriously injured and was transferred to Egypt for
medical treatment.
