28. Testimony of Manal Al-ostaz, 42, Mother of
Martyr Hassan:1
Two days before my son’s martyrdom, he
had a dream. He came to me and said, ‘Mom, you
know what, I dreamed of heaven. I dreamed that I
was there; revived.’ He was so happy for the dream,
I was afraid, though.
The day he was killed, Hassan came back
from Aser Prayer and sat with me. I was eagerly
waiting for the ceasefire to begin because I was
too scared of the dream Hassan had two days ago.
In the evening, he told me he was going out and
he would not be late. I begged him to take a great
care of himself. When I begged him he said, ‘Mom,
whatever was destined to happen would happen no
matter what,’ I nodded and kissed him a goodbye.
After al Ishaa Prayer, I learned that Hassan
was injured. I sat down on the floor. I remembered
what he told me two days ago and remembered
what he just told me before he left! What a fool!
How come I didn’t notice!
Some of his friends called and told me he
was taken to hospital after he was targeted with
Mohammed Abu Aisha by a drone missile. He
uttered the Islamic statement and told the people
around him that he was going to die so that they
could go aid Mohammed. Rest in peace, my dear.
