Families Targeted by Israeli Terror in 2012
We arrived to the hospital before the ambulance
that carried injuries, my son was one of them. After
ten minutes, the first ambulance arrived. Fadi was
inside.
I rushed to see him when huge hands from
the back stopped me. ‘His injury is so serious, no
one is allowed to enter with him,’ a doctor said. He
got inside the ambulance where my son was and
transferred him quickly to Al-Shifa Hospital. So I
went back home.
When I arrived, there was no house entrance
and there was no door. I knew that they attacked my
son while he was in front of the house. Minutes later,
I knew about the injury of other 11 neighbours; two
were my sons Abdul Aziz, 24, and Omer, 21.
While at home, I received a call from my
brother-in-law, Jihad Al-qatnany, 42. He talked to
me about Fadi’s condition. I felt something bad was
going on, I actually felt it from the beginning, and I
prayed that God grant me patience for whatever was
going to happen.
At 9:00 pm, the ceasefire was declared. I
immediately took a car and went to visit Fadi. 10
minutes later, his uncle came out from inside and
said, ‘I’m sorry. His body was so weak. We tried our
best to save him.’
I knew I was going to lose him the moment
that doctor stopped me from behind and told me that
I could not see my son. I do not remember that I
gave any reaction that day. I just closed my eyes and
thanked God.
