Before Fares’s martyrdom, I remember my
son, Belal, asked his father for some money. You
kidding, my husband told him, ‘Why did not you
wait until I die and take all the money. Sounds a
great deal, ha?’ Then he winked at him. It was as if
he felt he was going to die so soon.
May my beloved husband rest in peace. I
hope one day we could meet in heaven.
At about 12:20 pm, an Israeli warplane fired a
missile at an olive field in Absan City, to the east
of Khanunis, southern Gaza Strip. This attack
led to the martyrdom of Ibrahim Abunaser, 80,
and his granddaughter Ameera, 14. Moreover,
his son, Mohammad, was injured. This happened
while they all were harvesting olives.
4. Testimony of Basema Abunaser, 39, Mother
of Martyr Ameera:1
My daughter Ameera returned home from
Egypt after a successful surgery to donate her spinal
cord to her nine-year-old brother. She did it to help
her brother stay live.
In the afternoon, her aunt asked her to call
her grandfather and brother who were in the land to
have lunch with us. She went to the land and found
her grandfather and brother harvesting olives. When
she told them that they all are waiting for them at
home to share lunch with the family, her grandfather
told her that he had to complete his work and asked
her to go bring lunch.
When my daughter turned around to go back home,
