to my son and husband! I hurried to the window.
There was not any smoke, but as I moved my eyes,
I saw my husband cuddling Anas. They both were
surrounded by blood. They were the target of that
bombing!
I ran unconsciously. I went out and askedmy
husband to wake him up, but it was too late. A few
minutes later, young men from our neighborhood
rushed to the place while I was still holding my son,
Anas, and running unconsciously screaming for
help. I only wanted to save him. There, I saw my
husband’s cousin, Nehad, 40. He asked me to give
him Anas to take him to the nearest hospital. I did.
After that, I returned to the place where my
husband was lying. I hoped that he would probably
they would survive the bombing. I tried to convince
myself that he was still alive. I really wanted him
back.
Five minutes later, the ambulance reached
and took him to hospital. They put the word
martyr on his chest. I realized that all I had to do
was to surrender and accept his death. As I knew
nothing about Anas, I firmly hugged my two little
sons, Moaza and Ghaith, wishing that nothing bad
happened to them.
Later, I learned that I have already lost a
dear son. Anas had been killed, too.

I was traumatized because of the loss of
my son. In addition, I bore the hardship of traveling
with my grandchild Anas, who was injured too, to
