2. Testimony of Mohammed Abu Zoor, 52,
Owner of the House:1
During the days of the offensive, we stayed
as other Palestinian families did in our houses
to protect ourselves from attacks against civilian
objectives. On the 19th of November at dawn, I
heard screaming sounds. I asked my wife to see
what was happening outside, so she looked out from
the window and found that my brother’s family was
going through a massive panic and rushing out of
the house. I went out to know what was happening
exactly! I found them leaving their house quickly
because of a drone-warning missile fired at them. I
went out and thought quickly of how save them and
how I could help my brother’s 25-member family!
My own house was partially destroyed after being
hit by another warning missile.
Going to see what happened to my house,
I found my wife hanging in the ceiling of the
destroyed part! I rushed to save her. I felt like my
heart stopped and I was not able to do anything. I
was not able to think.
When I got into the house to save my wife,
I found my granddaughter, Shahd, one-year old, and
grandson, Mohammed, three-month old, under the
rubble screaming and crying. That very moment, I
lost my consciousness. I hurried to lift the stones
and get them out. I was loudly crying not believing
what I was seeing in front of my eyes.
My grandchildren were not the only ones
under the rubble. It was a great shock when I found
my sons Mosab and Ahmad under the rubble, too.
After an hour, Sahar, my daughter-in-law was found
dead under the rubble.
