Nearly at 10:30 am, Israeli warplanes fired a
missile on a civilian car near Alaa Al-Deen petrol
station in Tal Al-Hawa neighbourhood, southern
Gaza city, killing Mohammed Ryad Shamalkh,
24, from Al-Shejaya neighbourhood, eastern
Gaza City and moderately injuring the car’s
driver.

Mohammed was the middle in the family.
Everyone loved him and he was the closest to my
heart as he was a twin to my other son who I lost
while giving birth to.
Having an appointment with his friend, he
kissed his nephew a goodbye and hugged him as if
he knew it was going to be his last moments among
us. He left.
Minutes after his departure, we heard a
sound of a powerful explosion moments later, my
eldest son, Abu Ryad, 35, came to tell us that it was
Mohammed who was targeted
As they brought the corpse home, I was in a
total shock. His body was all burned severely. All I
felt was something strange in my soul, as if I was no
longer in my body.
