Families Targeted by Israeli Terror in 2012
By such repressive measures, the IOF aim to deter
Palestinians through shooting unarmed protesters,
and exiling wrongly convicted; in addition, Israel
has resorted to applying administrative detention
without a charge or a trial, unfair military provisions,
home demolitions and imposition of curfews.
Other repressive practices included
preventing journalists from covering the truth,
smashing doors of shops, reducing salaries of
teachers, closing educational institutions, burying
humans alive, breaking bones, suffocating
worshipers. Preventing imported food from entering
occupied territories, closing entrances to refugee
camps, preventing prisoners’ family visits from
seeing their relatives, raiding kindergartens and
terrorizing little children, demolishing houses, and
confiscating private funds, imposing travel bans on
groups and individuals.
Most important forms of Israel violations
against Palestinians are:
• Collective Punishment:
it includes imposing
curfews and siege on the population,
demolishing and bombing homes under
the pretext of harboring “terrorists”, and
closing national institutions, trade unions,
professional associations and charities.
Furthermore, the occupation authority pursues
a brutal policy of torture in the investigation
rooms, claiming lives of many prisoners. It also
cuts telephone lines, isolates the Gaza Strip from
the outside world, closes daily newspapers and
weekly magazines, imposes dictatorial control
on media outlets, bulldozes orchards and olive
trees, and opens wide roads for settlements and
military purposes.
