Around 4:55 P.M, an IOF warplane fired
amissile towards the house ofAliAl-Mashharawi,
54, in Al Zaitoun neighborhood, eastern Gaza
city. The bombing resulted in demolishing the
house and killing Omar Jihad Al-Mashharawi,
11, Heba Adel al-Mashharawi, 19, and Ahmed
Ali Al-Mashhrawi, 20, in addition to the injury
of another two children.
4. Testimony of Ahlam Al-Ashi, 24, Mother of
Omar:1
My sister-in-law, Heba, and I were sitting
with my kids Ali and Omar in the first floor as
Ahmed, Heba›s husband, and the workers were
finishing the house in the upper floor. When the
bombing started, Ahmed came downstairs in case
we were afraid. He was playing with Omar and
trying to let all of us feel ease convincing us that
it is safe here when the sound of explosion became
louder and closer! I, therefore, suggested leaving to
a safer place.
I took my son, Ali, 4 years and Ahmed took
Omar and followed me. Heba followed us, too. As
soon as I reached, I saw the shrapnel flying around
us and the house was destroyed leaving a pile of
ashes and debris.
I didn’t know what happened exactly, all I
could see around was destruction. A few seconds
later, Ahmed got out running, he was injured but he
kept running until he reached the neighbor’s house.
When the ambulance arrived in, paramedics
helped me get into it with my injured son, Ali. I
asked them about my son, Omar, who was playing
with him before the attack, he said, ‘I don›t know! I
