He told me that Mohammed had a motorcycle
accident. It never came to mind that this was not the
truth until my daughter hurried to her father asking
him again about her brother. He repeated the same
thing, but she did not believe him!
I felt something wrong happened. I went
out and started asking my neighbors if any of them
knew anything about my son. No one told me the
truth. It was my 17 year old kid, Bilal, who told me
that Essam was killed! He was aware that he was the
first one to tell me the tragic news.

I knew he was gone! God help me bear the burden
and accept my son as a martyr. Alhamdulillah.
At approximately 9:15 P.M, an IOF drone
fired a missile towards a house to the West of
Nuseirat camp. The bombardment resulted
in the martyrdom of Mahmoud Hamad Abu
Sawaween, 61, while he was near his house with
his son Mohammed, 27, who was injured, in
addition to the injury of five civilians, including
a woman.

Dad used to pray the five daily prayers at
the mosque. Evening, the day of his martyrdom,
he went out to the mosque to perform Ishaa prayer.
After he was done, he was with my married brother,
Mohammed, and my cousin, Nasser, chatting in the
